Our Black Belts
Black belt level represents the highest technical standards in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Reaching black belt commonly takes more than ten years of consistent training.
BJJ Slovakia black belts are a key part of the club’s technical level and help develop the next generation of coaches and athletes.

Headcoach - Ľubomír Repaský
"BJJ changed my life—it showed me direction and a path. It gave me a family and a sense of what life is about. What I enjoy most is helping children whose lives I can change: my own as well as others'." FOREVER GRATEFUL R.I.P. NICHOLAS HUNTER BROOKS
Zoltán Mišičiak
"For years jiu-jitsu has broken me down and built me up, and it helped me through the hardest times—without my coaches, the people around me, and my family, I would not be who I am today."
Robert Antony
Michal Guldan
"One day, when you look back, the years of struggle will seem the most beautiful." — Sigmund Freud
Daniel Urbanovič
"BJJ is a sport that has shaped me for more than a third of my life. You do not even know what you are capable of until you have touched complete exhaustion several times and discovered what you can really do. That connects easily with other areas of life—you learn that steady work takes you far."
Dušan Teren
"For me, BJJ has always been mainly about fun, and nothing has changed even after 17 years."
Pavol Ďurčo
"Curiosity drew me to BJJ—to try something new. Before that I tried boxing and Muay Thai, but it was not quite the right fit. Over time, the BJJ Slovakia community became a second family I am always glad to come back to."
Fero Starý
"When I was 31 years old, I stopped fighting in Thai boxing. I always wanted to learn ground fighting, so I started training in BJJ."
Jakub Oštrom
"I got into Jiu Jitsu because I was fascinated and attracted to martial arts from a young age. I started with Judo for a short time, continued with Thai boxing, and then BJJ seemed like something new and interesting to me. After the first training and sparring, BJJ absorbed me. Gradually, the training turned into a passion that taught me patience, respect, and constant improvement. BJJ has become an integral part of my life and my identity. But for me, Jiu Jitsu is not just about the right technique, it is mainly about the journey and the people you meet along the way."
Katarína Kovanová
"Brazilian jiu-jitsu, for me, is proof that with persistence and discipline I can overcome even the hardest challenges in life. In moments of doubt, looking back at my path reminds me that I carry the strength to handle things I once never dreamed I could."
Filip Dikant
"Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a wild and chaotic game of chess at the same time. My body is stretched out like a towel on the tatami, and my teammates are watching for every mistake like vultures. And yet I still manage to keep my head perfectly still. I started my BJJ journey more than 14 years ago and achieved my black belt in December 2023."
Jakub Petrík

“Do or do not. There is no try.” — Master Yoda
Peter Križanovič
"I walked into BJJ Slovakia as a child, but I left as someone who knows what discipline, determination, and respect mean. My coach showed me that sport is not only about strength, but about values I carry for life and bring into my personal life as well."
Gaspar Antanovič
"I started combat sports at the age of 17. Around that time, I watched a UFC fighter named Nogueira, who seemed capable of submitting anyone. That is when I first looked into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
At my first training session, I was submitted about a hundred times. From that moment on, I fell in love with the sport.
For me, it has taught me to stay calm even in the worst situations and to think clearly under pressure."
Robert Delič
"Jiu-jitsu has been with me since 2014; I earned my black belt in 2025.
It is not just a sport—it is a path that shapes me to this day."
Fernando Luis Derbli
"I started my journey with jiu jitsu in 2011 and since the beginning I fell in love with how Jiu is not only about power but also about strategy.
I am proud to say that doing jiu jitsu improved my life a lot. I was down a lot of times but it was always the jiu jitsu that brought me back up, and for that I always will be grateful."
